One bad quality I notice about Four is that he doesn't let things go. He thinks about the bad things for too long and doesn't think about the good things. An example of this is when they all go back to Chicago. "A little rest and recuperation was definitely in order; I just hope they haven't forgotten how close to ultimate defeat we came back in New Mexico, because it's all I can think about." (Lore 35) This shows how he can't stop thinking about the battle in New Mexico, even though they all survived. He only thinks about the bad part of it, not the good part. This could cause problems because they have to stay positive, but if Four is only thinking of the bad things, he won't be motivated. And since he is the leader, he has to be motivated.

I love how you pulled out quotes from the text to describe the charcter. I also like how you pulled bad and good characteristics from the character verses just pulling the good from the character like most people do.
ReplyDeleteI love how you contrasted his leadership to his negative thinking and how in order to be a good leader, Four needs to learn to let go and stay motivated.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you showed Four as he was, a leader with some not so good sides. I especially like that you said Four must be positive and motivated because he is the leader. I love the series, thanks for reminding me of it!
ReplyDeleteI like how you thoroughly explained Four's qualities using evidence from the book. This really validates your arguments and gave me a more in depth explanation.
ReplyDeleteI like how you listed some good and bad qualities of Four. Also I like how you used quotes as examples to show where the characteristics took place in the book.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree that in order for Four to be able to continue to lead this group that he has to be able to let things go. I also like how you listed the pros and cons of his leadership instead of just focusing on one of those topics. Using an actual qoute from the book also helps me to understand how he needs to improve
